Core Vault / Business Vault

I have a question when to 'split' Entities:
A Source-Table contains dependend on several attributes more than one entities.
The business keys of the different hubs are therefore composite-keys.
In my opinion is the correct way to source the complete table into the raw data vault and then to split the entities into different hubs in the business vault.
The current approach is to split the entities on the way from staging to the raw vault but in my opinion is here too much logic or better soft business rules in the loading of the raw vault, isn't it?

Hi,

the Raw Data Vault already splits your data according to the use of your business. You should carefully analyze the source data for the following items: business keys (separate by business object and grain), links between these keys, and descriptive attributes describing one of the keys (in hubs) and relationship (in links).

You can easily split these without the application of any soft rules as long as you follow source-driven modeling.

Hope that helps,

Mike
